  But they are more than happy to blame God when a nut case gets angry at his mom and kills her and her entire class of kids.

  There's a side of me that agrees with you. God, if he exists, certainly doesn't hold our hands. That said when something like this goes down, it really can't be blamed on God.

  There's a flipside to that coin though too. That if God does exist, and if he's as all powerful, loving, concerned, etc. as his adoring worshipers would have you believe, you'd think he'd be more prone to making his presense felt and have a greater hand in the affairs of this planet.

  During my lunchtime walk I was thinking to myself how JWs will view this as more evidence that we need God's Kingdom. The problem with that though, is all of the people including the children that survived this massacre are going to be destroyed at Armageddon. What the gunman(possibly gunmen according to new reports) didn't accomplish, Jehovah is going to do so a billion times over except for the 7 million plus JWs on the earth. Truly God is love.

  After A Day In Field Service, Did You Get Euphoric Or A Spiritual High?

  i know this might sound silly but field service did provide a strange type of good feelings after i was done.

  i called this the "halo-effect" because i felt so "righteous, obedient and good" for taking the weirdos or "the friends" in my station wagon.

  vans and station wagon owners in the congregations often get used hard, pile up seven whacks and your off!

  This. I think some people might be mistaking feelings of relief as euphoria. Me personally, I cringe thinking about field service the day before like right now I'm thinking about going out tomorrow, possibly Sunday too, and it's not a pleasant thing to look foward to. It's kind of like the anxiety I have right before having to stand on the platform, but once I'm up there it all goes away. Same with field service. I actually am more irritated with the people in our field service group than I am with talking with complete strangers. After that hour and a half or two is over, I feel like a huge burden has been removed. Driving away from the group is such a relief like coming up for air after holding one's breath too long under water and thinking to myself I won't have to do this for another week. A more fitting way to describe the relief after ending a couple hours in field service is the feeling of relief one has after taking a dump. You know that feeling you have right when you have to take a dump? Then if you swallowed something like shrimp shells and the sharp pain of those partially digested shells coming through your anus, and then the relief when it's all said and done? That's the same kind of relief I feel after getting done with field service.

  i'm not the biggest fan of yes although "leave it" is one of my favorite songs of any genre.

  another one of their songs though, "roundabout" is a favorite too.

  there's a certain aggressive rhythm it has, one might call it kinda funky, yet the vocals have a kind of folksy way about it and it even has a little bit of psychadelic/hard rock guitar nearing the end of the track.

  I'm not the biggest fan of Yes although "Leave It" is one of my favorite songs of any genre. Another one of their songs though, "Roundabout" is a favorite too. There's a certain aggressive rhythm it has, one might call it kinda funky, yet the vocals have a kind of folksy way about it and it even has a little bit of psychadelic/hard rock guitar nearing the end of the track. Any other songs or bands with a sound in a similar vein? CSNY comes to mind immediately, but after them I start drawing a blank. Can I have a little help please? Any suggestions?

  i had been studying with the jehovah's witnesses for the last couple years.

  they have been interesting study sessions and have learned quite a bit about them and their beliefs.

  much of what they teach is what i had learned through personal bible study.. growing up was normal.

  I like Charlie Sheen. Love that he really doesn't give a fugg. I read he paid someone's either upper 5 digit or 6 digit back taxes recently. Has me wondering just how much he's worth.

  Can someone explain to me why the WT treats the Bible like a comic book? By the way, when's that Joshua action figure coming out? I understand that if you view the Bible as the word of God you'll have a keen interest in the motivations and actions of people recorded in its pages. However the WT has a kinda perverted idolatrous outlook towards the Bible. They dont see it as something you simply learn and build faith from. No to the contrary, they worship it. It's like someone worshiping a math book, making trading cards for the symbols representing division, equals, or multiplication. So its no longer a math instruction book, its something you worship.
